Whether you're an avid collector of antiques in Staffordshire and beyond, love a good rummage through history, and military memorabilia or just enjoy the charm of the past, you're in the right place. I'm John Shaw, and for me, antiques aren't just objects—they're memories, stories, and connections to people and moments we mustn’t forget.
Based in Staffordshire, Shaws Memorabilia offers a thoughtfully curated collection of antiques and collectables, each with its own story to tell. Everything I stock has been researched, cleaned, and loved before it gets to you.
You’re not just buying an item—you’re holding a piece of history.

From tinplate trains to well-worn teddies, the vintage memorabilia toys I stock spark memories of playtimes gone by. These aren’t just for collectors—they’re for anyone who remembers the magic of childhood. You’ll find:
These treasures remind us of a simpler time—and I love helping them find new homes where they’ll be just as appreciated.
I got into antiques and memorabilia the old-fashioned way—by accident and curiosity! As a young lad, I’d tag along with my grandad to jumble sales, antiques in Staffordshire and car boot fairs. I was fascinated by old coins, medals, and the mystery of where they’d come from. That spark of interest never left me. What started as a childhood hobby grew into a full-blown passion—and now, a business I’m proud to run.
I’ve spent over 30 years learning the ropes, developing my eye, and getting to know the ins and outs of military memorabilia, memorabilia, antiques and collectables. I’ve seen all sorts—from a rare Victorian coin set tucked away in a biscuit tin to military medals returned to long-lost families. With every piece I find, there’s always that feeling of uncovering a little time capsule from the past and finding antiques in Staffordshire.
Why do I do it? Because these items matter. They’re not just things—they’re parts of people’s lives, and I feel a responsibility to treat them with care.
Experience, obsession, and a genuine respect for the stories each item tells. I research, restore, and rehome every piece of antique and memorabilia with pride—and I’ll always take the time to talk you through its history, value, and quirks. If you visit the shop, you’ll always get a warm welcome and a good chat
